Your CSA Member Page: Signing In Without a Password

Your CSA Member Page: Signing In Without a Password

This guide is written for CSA members. If you run a farm, you're welcome to send it to yours — that's what it's for.

Your farm runs its CSA on TallyTill, and you have a member page: a single web address where you can see what's in this week's box and pay what you owe. Here's how to get into it.

There is no password

That's not a temporary state of affairs. There is no password to create, no password to forget, and no password anybody can steal.

Instead:

Signing in, every timeOpen your farm's member page — Your farm sends you the link. Bookmark it — it's the same address every time, all season.; Type the email address you gave the farm — It has to be the one they have on file. A different address won't be recognised.; Check your email — A sign-in link arrives. Open it on the device you want to be signed in on.; You're in — You'll stay signed in on that device. You only repeat this when you switch phones, clear your browser, or it's been a while.Signing in, every time1Open your farm's member pageYour farm sends you the link. Where do I find my farm's page?

From your farm. They send the link — usually in the welcome email when you join, and often again at the start of the season.

There is no directory to search and no way to look a farm up by name. If you've lost the link, email or call the farm and ask them to resend it. That's the fastest route, and they won't mind — it's the most common question they get.

Once you have it, bookmark it. It doesn't change.

What you can do once you're signed in

  • See what's in this week's box — the actual contents, once the farm has built and locked the run for that pickup day
  • See what you owe, if your farm bills in instalments
  • Pay your balance, if your farm takes card payments
  • Swap one item in your box — only if your farm has switched that on, and only before they lock the run

That's the full list. It's deliberately small.

What you can't do here

Some things simply aren't on the page, and it's better to know now than to hunt for them:

  • You can't cancel your membership. Contact your farm.
  • You can't skip a week or put your box on hold. Contact your farm — they can hold that one box for you, and they'd much rather know in advance than pack a box nobody collects.
  • You can't change your pickup site. Contact your farm.
  • You can't close or delete your account. Contact your farm.

None of that is an oversight you should work around — a CSA is a relationship with a farm, and these are conversations, not buttons. But it does mean: if you need something changed, email the farm. The page won't do it for you.

Work down this list before you assume something's broken.

  1. Check spam. It's the usual answer.
  2. Check the address. It has to be the exact email the farm has on file for you. If you gave them a work address and you're typing your personal one, nothing will arrive.
  3. Wait a minute and try once more. There's a limit on how many links one address can request in an hour — it's there to stop the farm's email being abused — so hammering the button makes it slower, not faster.
  4. Email the farm. They can check what address they have for you, and fix it if it's wrong.

No — treat it like a key.

A sign-in link signs in whoever opens it. Don't forward it. If you want somebody else in your household to be able to see the box, ask the farm to add their email too.

Sign-in links are single-use and time-limited, so an old one in your inbox stops working on its own.

What about the QR code on my box?

If your farm prints labels with a QR code, scanning it shows what's in that box and any note from the farm.

It shows nothing about a person — no name, no address, no contact details. That's on purpose: the person carrying a box is often not the person who signed up for it, and a neighbour doing a pickup run shouldn't learn anything about you.

Scanning it doesn't sign you in and isn't a substitute for the member page.
