What the numbers say
- Northeast's average retail price is the same as the US average.
- Since October 2021 it has risen 19.8%, from $0.84 to $1.01 a pound.
- Gaps are months with no Northeast figure: BLS never collected the figure in October 2025 (federal shutdown). Nothing is filled in.
