What the numbers say
- Midwest's average retail price is 1.1 times the US average.
- Since October 2021 it has risen 36.7%, from $1.37 to $1.88 a pound.
- Gaps are months with no Midwest figure: BLS had no figure available in July 2022, August 2023, July 2025, August 2025, September 2025 and November 2025, and BLS never collected the figure in October 2025 (federal shutdown). Nothing is filled in.
The line breaks at August 2023, July 2025, August 2025, September 2025, October 2025, November 2025: BLS collected no prices in those months.
