What the numbers say
- Louisiana's price received is the same as the US average.
- Since September 2016 it has risen 21.8%, from $9.85 to $12 a bushel.
- Gaps are months with no Louisiana figure: NASS withheld the figure in April 2017, June 2017, April 2018, May 2018, June 2018, July 2018, May 2019, March 2020, April 2020, June 2021, June 2022, April 2023, May 2023, June 2023, January 2024, May 2024, December 2024, March 2025, May 2025 and May 2026 to protect individual farms, and too few farms reported in June 2025 for NASS to publish a figure. Nothing is filled in.
